If you’re up late, say two o’clock
And want to hear some classic rock
Then Clyde’s your man, he’s on the air
From hereabouts to who-knows-where.
But, like many old deejays,
He’s picky about what he plays.
Among the music he’ll avoid:
White Stripes, Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd
Golden Earring, Moody Blues
Elvis singing “Blue Suede Shoes.”
For Clyde, James Brown died years ago,
And Al Green never made the show.
Blue Oyster Cult and David Gray
The Indigo Girls and Green Day.
King Crimson, Tangerine Dream
He cannot even stomach Cream.
Deep Purple may as well be lepers
Likewise, Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Vanilla Fudge and Axl Rose,
On and on the blacklist goes,
But no one really seems to mind –
After all, poor Clyde is colorblind.
